2431 E. Broad St. — on the north side of Broad, between the 7-Eleven and the multi-tenant retail center, just east of the historic downtown corridor.

What they're building

A new 3,152-square-foot Shake Shack with a drive-thru and limited outdoor seating facing Broad Street.

When it opens

Unknown. The permits are granted, but no construction start or opening date has been announced. We'll update this story when there's a date.

The fine print

The City Council approved the project unanimously (7-0) on Aug. 24, following a 5-0 Planning and Zoning vote — no opposition at either hearing. This would be the first Shake Shack in Mansfield proper; the nearest ones today are at DFW Airport, Rockwall, and McKinney.
